Books

Interested in reading more about the AMC Hornet? As far as I know there are no specific books on the that car. However, there are some on the American Motors Corporation. I have posted some suggested reading material on this page for your convenience. If there are any you would like to recommend, please e-mail me with any suggestions.

AMC Cars 1954-1987, An Illustrated History
by Patrick R. Foster

Patrick Foster's new book was written to commemorate AMC's 50th Anniversary. It is a great compliment to his other published work. The book walks you through an illustrated history of the automobiles produced by the greatest and last of the Independent Automakers.

Armed with an archive of 6,500 photographs he has obtained over the years, the author beautifully lays out 50 years of AMC automobile history. He gives the reader plenty of historical facts to read. However, just thumbing through the gorgeous pictures and reading the captions will take you on a 50 year journey of some of the most innovate and beautiful cars ever made.

This and many other AMC related books are available through Olde Milford Press.

American Motors, The Last Independent
by Patrick R. Foster

Patrick Foster is also one of America's best-known automotive writers. This book covers the complete history of the company from beginning to end. I really thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's full of great pictures and Mr. Foster's analysis of the company's struggles is informative and insightful.

This is a must read for the AMC enthusiast!

This book is no longer in print. Used copies may be available on eBay or Olde Milford Press.
