Wheel Interchangeability

A majority of the rims AMC used were made by Detroit Wheel of Detriot Michigan, and will interchange with bolt patterns with Ford and Mopar. Some Ford late 60s rims however have a small center hole so they can't be used.

Useful Tip:

  1. Take off any of your existing rims, and hold a piece of cardboard behind it.
  2. Drawing through the bolt holes and center hole with a pen to create a template.

Armed with your new template, you can go to any auto parts store, speed shop or swap meet and if something catches your eye you simply whip out your cardboard and hold it behind the wheel to see if it matches your wheel pattern.

Caution: Your template will NOT tell you whether the wheel is bent.

Have your template ready! Many times you will have to make a very quick decision on purchasing them because the next time you walk by that vendor's booth, they will have long since been sold!
